about Jackson
Jackson is a very special boy- he loves people and Jackson is often very playful, affectionate, energetic - he can be very perceptive and smart, a lot of fun and the life of the party! He loves chewing, playing with toys, and he loves getting high value food rewards for practicing good habits!
He is about 18 lbs and still very young. (maybe about 2.5 yrs old?) He is very playful and social with humans. Jackson can be very eager to be social and often very playful with other dogs, but he can be very excitable and currently might be better as the only dog in the home,
However, Jackson clearly wants to interact and play with other dogs. Jackson loves going on daily walks with the 9lb Mister Amore, following him around, sniffing the same spots, and after Amore lifts his leg to mark, Jackson has learned to mark the same spot by "lifting" his missing leg.
Jackson and Mister Amore have daily moments when they play bow and try to start chase play with each other - sometimes it is more one way where Jackson initiates the play, and other times Mister Amore initiates, and sometimes it is a back and forth chase/zoom play, with Jackson sometimes trying to incorporate toys into the play! Jackson can be super excitable at times but he is still learning. He is not super forward with all dogs - if another dog, must be the right fit.
Jackson is house-trained and crate-trained. Jackson loves his blankets and bedding.

Chewing on high value single ingredient chews seems to be very helpful for Jackson to relax and be calmer. He likes a very wide variety of single ingredient chews! Fruits and vegetables too - Jackson often makes very nice crunching sounds!
Jackson loves squeaky toys. The following link is our affiliate link: Jackson’s favorite toy is probably the Squishy Face Flirt Pole, definitely with the squeaker! We find the smaller version might be safer for indoor play, and the regular size works for outdoor fun!
Jackson has a big personality, and he is still very young. He can have a lot of big feelings and he can be vocal. Jackson is so incredibly expressive! Jackson is often super playful, and when he plays he can often be super vocal!
Being very vocal is at times very good and a lot of fun, but when Jackson gets uncomfortable or too excited, he can be very loud - we’re still working on his inside voice! (Probably not good for apartment living, or if neighbors are too close? Please assess to see if this a good fit for you!)
Jackson is a super playful and social guy, but it seems like he very likely prefers the peace and quiet that life out here in the country offers, versus the hustle and bustle of city life - Jackson seems to thoroughly enjoy being out here in the country - lots of open space, fields, and trails for doing what he loves - sniffing and exploring the world on hikes and walks - he is a tripod (missing back right leg), but he can be very active!
Jackson often starts hopping around, gets very happy and excited when he sees his harness and leash! Walks and adventures = lots of opportunities to have fun and explore the world, together - sniff, run, walk, play, get high value food rewards for practicing good habits, so many possibilities
Jackson is very smart – in addition to feeling safe, mental exercise is such a huge need for him, and it seems just as important as physical exercise, if not more important – in addition to feeling safe and physical play/exercise, Jackson loves chewing, food puzzles, fun training games, sniffaris/decompression walks - Jackson loves life, and so many things!
